Pink Floyd has announced the release of a 20th anniversary box set of their multi-million selling album, THE DIVISION BELL.
In honor of their 20th anniversary, the band has set the release for July 1st, and will feature new editions and remasters of the 1994 album, famous for the Grammy Award winning track “Marooned.” THE DIVISION BELL was also the last album released by Pink Floyd as David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright. The original album was produced by Bob Ezrin and Gilmour himself, with orchestral work by the late Michael Kamen. This new box set has been remastered by long time audio associates of Pink Floyd, Joel Plante and James Guthrie.
In typical dramatic flourish, the box set features an amazing bundle of collectors item, including a new 2-LP180-gram vinyl edition of the album (remastered by Doug Sax at The Mastering Lab) including all the full length tracks (originally edited to fit on a single LP) in a sleeve designed by Hipgnosis/StormStudios. If that’s not enough for you, five other discs come in the set: a red 7″ vinyl replica of single “Take It Back,” clear 7″ vinyl replica of “High Hopes,” 12″ blue vinyl replica of “High Hopes” with reverse laser etched design, the 2011 Discovery remaster of THE DIVISION BELL and a Blu-ray disc including the album in HD Audio, plus the previously unreleased 5.1 surround sound audio mix of the album by Andy Jackson. One of the most exciting features of this set includes a new video for “Marooned”, the famous track that won a Grammy for ‘Best Rock Instrumental’ in 1994. Directed by Aubrey Powell at Hipgnosis, the video was filmed in the Ukraine during the politically volatile period this spring, and promises to be quite the ride.
