Bassnectar Announces New Album Noise vs Beauty For June 2014 Release

Dub god Bassnectar has announced a new album, Noise vs Beauty, release for June 24th of this year!

Bassnectar (lesser known as Lorin Ashton) is set to drop his 10th studio album (tracklist below), a follow up the hugely successful 2012 Va Va Voom. Known as a relentless performer, he even took an extended six month break from his wild schedule to devote time to Noise vs Beauty, claiming
“I unplugged from social networking and didn’t listen to any music: I just created. For the first time I feel completely content with what I have created, and authentically detached from the preferences of others; I made the music I wanted to make and I love it. Each of the 15 songs represents a specific point along that spectrum with some songs that sound like pure freakout-noise, some that sound beautiful and touching, and some that are combinations.”

Dubbed most inventive electronic artist since ambient/electro king Aphex Twin, Bassnectar has already shared his first single, “You & Me”. The ballad features W Darling’s vocals, and arpeggiated instrumental backing that is a taste of this eclectic album Bassnectar has described for us. Last week, he also hinted at his collaboration with Baltimore MC Rye Rye, “Now”, described as “a frenzy of electro synths, flowing rhymes, and 808s.” Bassnectar’s latest album will feature a wide range of artists, including Fashawn, Zion I, TURSI, Donnis, Jenna Sousa, Simon Morel, BEGINNERS and Lafa Taylor.
