Municipal Waste is a thrash metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Their usual lyrical approach deals with topics including alcoholism, mutants, and trash metal. Their song titles are comedic in the sense that they refer to their genre title. Some song titles include, “Thrashing’s My Business and Business is Good”, “The Thrashin’ of the Christ”, “Thrash? Don’t Mind If I Do” and “Drunk as Shit.”

The band has been musically influenced by DRI, Suicidal Tendencies, Nuclear Assault, and Attitude Adjustment. They have released 5 studio albums, their latest being The Fatal Feast, in 2012 on Nuclear Blast Records. Their previous albums were Massive Aggressive (2009), The Art of Partying (2007), Hazardous Mutation (2005), and their debut, Waste ‘Em All (2003).

Municipal Waste has performed the UK’s Download Festival, and has also appeared on tour with At the Gates, Darkest Hour, Toxic Holocaust, and Repulsion.
