The lineup for the seventh annual Outside Lands Festival, held in Golden Gate Park has just been announced, and wow is it hot. Atop the roster of extraordinary performers is Kanye West, fresh of his “impressive” performance with Jay Z at last month’s SXSW in Austin, TX. Joining Kanye to add even more star power to San Francisco’s historical park is Grammy Award winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, classic rocking Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and the English indie rock band Arctic Monkeys.
The three day event Rolling Stone called, “remarkable,” and “one of America’s best,” will be taking place from August 8th to the 10th. Tickets for the only gourmet music festival, that has been sold out for three consecutive years will go on sale Thursday April 10th at 10am PDT on www.sfoutsidelands.com. A large portion of the ticket sales will “directly benefit San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department.
The Outside Lands has emerged as one of the most “revered and prominent festivals in the country.” Last year alone, the SF Chronicle called the festival an, “enormous success,” while the Examiner called it, “a must attend festival of all time.”
Set to the backdrop of the majestic Golden Gate Park, combined with the “finest food and drink found at any festival,” Outside Lands has elevated its stature, and this year is no different. From music legends, today’s hit makers, and underground favorites like hip hop’s Atmosphere, the event id the “global destination for entertainment lovers everywhere.” Having acts like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis perform at their festival several years before they were famous, the festival prides itself in “showcasing up-and-coming bands, and their colorful fans- as it is about the stars.”
With a well earned reputation for being the only gourmet music festival, Outside Lands give it’s ticket holders the option of more than 200 food and drinks. By setting up different regions – A Taste of the Bay Are, Wine Lands, Beer Lands, Choco Lands and back for it’s second year, an expanded Cheese Lands, the festival does it’s part to prove that Northern California’s culinary scene is among the worlds best.
Each year the festival’s organizers ensure that, “every facet of the event highlights the Bay Area and all it’s components that make it one of the most desirable places to live and visit.” Outside Lands has raised over $8.3 million for the benefit of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department in the event’s first six years. It is estimated that the event generates over $70 million for San Francisco’s economy annually.
