Grammy Award winning music producer and remix artist Jamie xx has released a new single, his first solo offering since 2011. The English musician, who has mixed for everyone from Rihanna to Drake, is in the middle of a tour with his band The xx.
Jamie joined The xx on stage at Coachella last year and since then has won a Grammy for his work on When its all Over with Alicia Keys. Now the beat master is at it again, this time producing a work of his own.
In 2011 Jamie released We’re New Here, which made it to #33 on the UK charts. The album was received with high critical acclaim. His new work follows up that success with a 12-inch release that contains the two new tracks Girl and Sleepsound. Although usually known for his remixes and sampling, Jamie has given us a smooth and melodic track based in electronic post dub-step.
