Sharon Van Etten @ Union Transfer 6/18

On June 18th you can catch Sharon Van Etten at Union Transfer. Her newest album, Are We There, debuts on May 27th, which gives you plenty of time to fall in love with it before she graces the Union Transfer stage. Are We There is the follow up to 2012’s much acclaimed Tramp. Check out a trailer for Are We There here.

With her newest album, Van Etten wanted to make a record entirely on her own terms, and thus she self-produced Are We There. Of the album, Van Etten say, “It’s a very emotional record it’s very open, it’s very raw…and fairly uncensored.” And she brought a few friends along for the ride. Van Etten says that this album differs from its predecessor in that she chose to collaborate solely with her close friends, while she was at the helm. She says, “I had someone helping me with the record all the time in the past and now everything was my call. It was funny trying to learn how to be a boss and telling people what I wanted.”

You can currently pre-order Van Etten’s album, Are We There, via iTunes. You’ll get instant copy of the record’s first single, “Taking Chances.” You can also stream the track via Van Etten’s SoundCloud. Taking a listen to the track, grab a copy of the album, and get ready for Sharon Van Etten’s June appearance at Union Transfer!
