Australian punk princess Brody Dally debuted her solo track “Meet The Foetus/Oh The Joy” today on NME.com .
For the first time, Dalle co-produced her solo work with Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures), and the result has been described as a “riotous blast of punk rock with a pop sheen that storms through ideas about the modern age, triumphing against the odds and even spirituality.” All songs were written by Dalle; only few special guests were allowed to appear on the upcoming album, such as guitarist Nick Valensi of The Strokes. Her two close friends Shirley Manson (Garbage) and Emily Kowal (Warpaint) can also be heard on backing vocals.
“Meet The Foetus/Oh The Joy” is a moody, firey single, slower than her early work with The Distillers, and brimming with attitude. Her shows have consistently sold out in London and the USA, and she has announced that she will be going to be at all 8 tour dates of Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age Australian Tour this spring.
