Mid-90s band The Rentals are set to release their first new album since their break up, which is due out sometime next year.
The rock group was originally founded by former Weezer guitarist Matt Sharp, who started it as a side project to Weezer. They are best known for their hit “Friends of P.” They disbanded in 1999, but have come together for occasional performances since then. Now they are officially back together with a new lineup consisting of Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius, Ryen Slegr of Ozma, Lauren Chipman of The Section Quartet and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys. Past members have included Petra Hayden and Maya Rudolph. No other details about the upcoming reunion album have been released, but we will be waiting with bated breath.
