Since Charli XCX recently announced she was in the studio diligently working on a new album, she has pushed back her tour dates until October and November in order to accompany Paramore on their early fall tour throughout the United Kingdom.
At only 21, Charlotte Aitchison has already been asked by pop punk headliners Paramore to support them on their UK tour this September. Unfortunately for devout fans, this means Charli XCX’s own headlining tour will have to be pushed back in order to make time for this incredibly busy schedule.
This will be Charli’s first time ever performing in large UK cities outside of her hometown of London. The young pop diva in the making penned the ht single “I Love It” for Swedish pop duo Icona Pop, which has sold over three million copies worldwide, and her debut album, True Romance, broke through with rave reviews from Pitchfork and many other sources in its wake.
Charli allegedly is in the studio with many huge names in pop and will likely be a household name by the end of 2013.
Her statement reads as follows.
“I’m very happy to have been asked to support Paramore on their UK tour. I’ve never really done shows in the UK outside of London before so it’s going to be something different and kind of scary for me. Of course I am really, truly so so sorry to everyone who got tickets to my US shows, as now I will have to reschedule those dates and I hate the fact that I will have let lots of people down. It’s weird, I always feel strangely at home when I play shows in America and the fans I have out there are literally the best, most killer fans in the world. I’m upset that you guys are going to be disappointed and annoyed at me, as I really did have big things planned for this tour, so it’s very sad. I’m working really hard to reschedule the dates right now and all I can promise you is that the shows will be even bigger and better than anything I’ve ever done before” –Charli XCX
American fan of Charli? After this tour wraps, there will be US tour dates released as well.
