Dr. Dog Announce New Album B-Room Set for October 2013 Release

Well-known rock group Dr. Dog has announced a new album, B-Room, to be released October 1st. The album drop will be supported by a fall tour opening for Colorado’s The Lumineers.

Recorded in their new, self-built studio, the album showcases some of their most mature, streamlined and soulful writing to date. The band wrote songs live in rehearsal, and used the rock solid groove of the band, honed through workmanlike touring, as a powerful compositional tool. As McMicken puts it:

“The hallmark of soul music for me is that the arrangements are simple rather than virtuosic, and that the sound creates a feeling that is intuitive rather than intellectual.”

With the freedom of their own studio to record and write, the band says it was relived of its expectations and preconceptions that came along with renting a foreign space. Recorded primarily in live takes, the songs seamlessly fuse the spontaneity of the band’s live performances with the intricacy of their kaleidoscopic composition. The tour for the album will kick off in September at the stunning Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. Check out the full track listing for B-Room below.
