Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for! Elvis Costello and The Roots have announced the release of their first single from their highly anticipated collaborative album entitled Wise Up Ghost, TODAY.
The unlikely collaboration has been highly anticipated by loyal fans across the world. The early release of their new single “Walk Us Uptown” has supporters reeling for the album release schedule for September 2013.
?uestlove announced the release of this album via Blue Note Records in an interview with Billboard Magazine this past January. An album involving both Costello and The Roots will be one of the most interesting and unexpected collaborations of the year.
The highly intensive work sessions for Wise Up Ghost, TODAY took place mostly during those creative hours of the night or in Costello’s Hookery Crookery Studios.
Newly released music video for single “Walk Us Uptown” consists of mostly lyrics directed by Mariana Blanco of Hoodablah. In addition to the newly released single, Costello and The Roots also revealed the album’s cover art which was inspired by City Lights Pocket Poet Series. City Lights kindly consented to the use of their unique design.
The magic of the collaborations captured by celebrated Costello and the Roots is something that every music lover should encounter. Costello and Ahmir describe the relationship as,
