The Cult started making music in the ’80’s, and brought on an era of new sound. They took the inherent desert wandering mysticism of The Doors, the guitar journeys of Led Zeppelin, and shocked it into new life by adding the element of hard metal, all while keeping it all in a very dark place. It’s an art of balance, and an air of sound pushing exploration. Nothing else really sounds like The Cult, except The Cult. Openers White Hills are rather brain rattling, and lean on the side of hard-edged psych. A great night of music.
