PANTyRAiD – PillowTalk

Prepare to Be Raided

Welp, kids, it’s that magical time of year again! Electronic duo PANTYRAiD are back and ready to fill your summer club ventures with some good old dance music. What started out as a simple collaborative effort back in 2008 between Martin Folb and Josh Mayer (a.k.a. Marty Party and Ooah of the Glitch Mob) has turned into an annual spring event. Since their debut, The Sauce in 2009, PANTyRAiD have been selling out summer tours and releasing albums and EPs that continue to top the charts years after their release. This year they’re presenting us with PillowTalk—a twelve-track album being released on the band’s own label, PANTyRAiD Music.

From the get-go, the album delivers on the band’s self-proclaimed mission to put a twist on traditional club music. In each track you can hear the fun they must have had experimenting with sounds and arrangements. The fun is infectious to listeners, as well— the music is something you could dance to or enjoy by just sitting back with a cold one after work to unwind. While the title is a little questionable, the track “Realism Is For Girls” proves to be a nice highlight on the album. The tribal beat mixed with synth waves makes for lots of head bopping and the general good feelings that come along with a great song.

Yep, Marty Party and Ooah continue to make sure this summer will be one of dancing with Panty Raid. Expect a great RAiD if they come near you. By the sounds of the album, they’re going to make sure you have just as good a time jamming out to PillowTalk as they did making it. So, ready the party supplies, however great or small, and get to downloading this album. Summer ain’t gonna stick around forever.
