Every since the Friedberger siblings decided to take a break from the Fiery Furnaces and pursue their own solo work, we’ve been able to witness two distinctive musical personalities forming before our eyes. Matt has been living in France, creating surreal soundtracks for films that don’t exist, while Eleanor has established herself as a songwriter with a knack for catchy, introspective tunes. Her newest LP, Personal Record, comes out via Merge on June 4, just in time to debut some new songs when she returns to the Empty Bottle on June 7.
