Rumor Killer: Jerry Cantrell is NOT Working on a New Project with Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Lars Ulrich and John Frusciante

Sometimes it pays not to take Twitter too seriously. A fake account posing as Alice in Chains’ guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell has been posting numerous updates claiming that Cantrell has a new project with Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and former Chili Pepper John Frusciante.

The Twitter user has been posting self-made pics like this one below:

The pic has been posted with messages stating, “Very Very excited about my new project with Roger John Eddie & Lars”

Well don’t believe this for one second fans of all five musicians. We’ve reached out to the representatives for Alice in Chains and they stated for the record that this is “False.” To boot, they’ve also confirmed that is not a real Jerry Cantrell Twitter profile. Someone out there is just trying to cause trouble. Don’t believe this fake account for one second. It’s not happening and these tweets are false.

Alice in Chains does have a new album slated for sometime this spring that is currently untitled. No release date announced for that as of yet. You can hear new song “Hollow” below.
