Harley Flanagan claims, “the only thing I did wrong that night was go out to the club.”
In July it was reported a hardcore show in NYC got shut down after former Cro-Mag bassist Harley Flanagan stabbed current bassist Mike Couls. Flanagan is now contradicting those reports, claiming he was invited to the show and was jumped backstage.
In our previous article we reported that eyewitnesses saw Flanagan heading into the VIP area around 8:00pm with a hunting knife. It was said he snuck into the show and attacked Couls and William Berario.
Vice is now reporting that Flanagan disputes these claims. Vice spoke with Flanagan who claims he was invited backstage where he was attacked and fought for his life. “The only thing I did wrong that night was go out to the club,” he said claiming he didn’t even know he was in trouble until the cops arrived and arrested him.
Vice paints Flanagan as a changed man who has been out of the hardcore scene for years. He has a family and teaches jiu-jitsu to kids. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in court.
