A new North American tour run featuring Rachael Yamagata will begin on November 15th at Electric Owl in Vancouver, BC. Prior to the tour, she has a September residency at the Rockwood Music Hall in New York City.
She has toured behind her Chesapeake CD for the past year with The Swell Season, Ray LaMontagne, Ryan Adams, Sara Bareilles, Liz Phair and Adam Cohen. Some of her highlights include opening for David Gray at Madison Square Garden, sharing the stage at Carnegie Hall with R.E.M. and Patti Smith, being Pete Townsend of the Who’s guest, performing for the President of the United States Barack Obama and hosting a tweet dialogue at the White House. She also took part for a tribute show to Woody Guthrie with Steve Earle, jazz great Allen Toussaint and the Wood Brothers.
She will be including selections from her forthcoming EP of darker ballads out this fall, doing intimate shows with string sections inside mostly seated venues. A free download of “You Won’t Let Me” is available below.
