The ever popular Coachella Festival will be venturing onto the high seas as they will be introducing the S.S. Coachella Festival this coming December.
The two trips will be venturing to the Bahamas (December 16-19, 2012) and Jamaica (December 19-23, 2012) from Fort Lauderdale, FL and will feature acts such as Pulp, Hot Chip, Girl Talk, Yeasayer, Sleigh Bells, James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) amongst the 22 act bill.
While festivals on a cruise has become the latest trend on the touring circuit, the people from Goldenvoice, the Los Angeles based concert promoters behind the Coachella Festival finally agreed into doing this version after finding a 1000-foot, 122,000-ton ship that holds 2800 fans along with cabana-style alcoves and a small theater.
Prices for the voyage start at $500 a person ($250 per trip) with 11 other price levels ranging into the thousands. Not all levels allow up to four people to pile into a cabin but could be worth it in the long haul.

Much like a normal cruise, the S.S. Coachella Festival will have a variety of dining options, choices of bars and wines, and amenities and activities, such as gyms, shops and salons. But this cruise will have musical acts performing without threats of a curfue.
