A surprising collaborative album has just been announced. Apparently, Yoko Ono and Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth have recently announced that they have an album that is set to be released September 25. Read more to find out the details surrounding YOKOKIMTHURSTON.
Gordon and Moore used to be married and were bandmates in Sonic Youth, but their recent split cast doubt into many minds about the possibility of future collaborations. Fortunately, this announcement of YOKOKIMTHURSTON signals that the split couple are still working together creatively.
As reported by BeatsPerMinute, the combo originally got together when working on a charitable song in light of the tsunami in Japan, but apparently the project has blossomed into something far more substantial. YOKOKIMTHURSTON is only six tracks but it will probably still be a lengthy release judging by the first song they’ve released. The 14-minute single that can be purchased here.
