Drum Technician Dies Before Radiohead’s Toronto Concert When Stage Collapsed

Scott Johnson, Radiohead’s drum technician, was killed on tour with the band by a collapsed stage while working on the set in Toronto’s Downsview Park.

3 others were severely injured in the incident, and the band had to cancel the show.  According to BBC, investigations are still being held to find the cause of the incident.

Radiohead drummer, Philip Selway, was deeply affected by the death of the technician and released the following statement:

We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague. He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott’s family and all those close to him.
