You don’t have to bleed neon kandi to know just who Above & Beyond are. The UK electronic trio have made a name for themselves worldwide with their much-sampled trance hits such as “Sun & Moon” and “Thing Called Love”, were ranked #5 in the world in DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJ Poll, and have managed to sell out the enormous Hollywood Palladium the past two years they’ve played in LA – and this year, they’re taking on the Shrine.
Their Friday and Saturday shows were sold out almost immediately, but according to posts on the Facebook event, people are still selling tix. Tickets are still being sold for their Thursday show for $50 here. It isn’t often Jono, Tony and Paavo come to the City of Angels, so if I were you I’d snatch up Thursday tix ASAP – or sneak into somehow get ahold of tix for their Friday or Sat shows. I’ve been re-listening to their album Group Therapy non-stop today in preparation for Friday’s show and am still continually blown away by how emotionally riveting their music is. No wonder they’ve been dubbed “the biggest electronic DJing and production collective the UK has ever produced.”
