I’ve been sleep deprived lately, so when I first saw this e-mail in my inbox I thought for sure I was hallucinating from exhaustion. There’s no way there’s going to be a festival featuring The Soft Pack, Here We Go Magic, Incan Abraham, Crystal Antlers plus 100+ other musical artists FOR TOTALLY FREE, amiright??

Friends, this is very happy news indeed. For those of you who – like me – screamed at your startled roommate/tore your hair out/stomped around your house/knocked all your furniture down/kicked a stray cat after waiting breathlessly online for two hours and not getting Coachella tickets, I recommend you wipe your tears, hug a cat and plan a trip to North Palm Springs, stat. Two Coachella weekends? Psh, how about 11 straight days of FREE music, art installations, food, vendors and workshops, all sure to satisfy your indie-loving heart? Each day’s line-up is presented by a different sponsor, which include Pabst Blue Ribbon (hipsters rejoice!), Origami Vinyl (hipsters rejoice again!), ONE Coconut Water (hungover people rejoice!) and Sailor Jerry (everyone rejoice!!). Moon Block Party says they’re all about “a community effort to facilitate the ever expanding growth of the human spirit”, and this Desert Daze music extravaganza seems to be the perfect place for some serious spirit expanding – that is, if “spirit expanding” can be interpreted as rocking out to lots of great live music.
