Sage Francis is nowhere new to the hip hop scene. In fact, one might call him a veteran, or even a trailblazer. Hailing from the rocky shores of Providence, Rhode Island, he’s put out several full length albums, a handful of buzzed-about mixtapes and founded Strange Famous Records…all in a little more than a decade. After flaunting his freestyle talent by winning Scribble Jam in 2000, he put his name on the hip hop map as one to be watched and frankly, you better take advantage of this opportunity to watch him: on March 16, he’ll be putting on a show at the Troubadour with two other acts under his own label (The Metermaids and 2Mex). Ready yourself from some heavy beats and biting rhyme.
