Vas Defrans @ The Roxy 3/3

I first heard Vas Defrans (pronouned Vahs De-FRAHNS) play at USC’s on-campus venue Tommy’s Place over year ago and I was completely, utterly blown away.  Lead singer Vincent Coleman commanded the stage like some sort of frenzied revolutionary leader of the 21st century and the rest of the band rocked out in perfect, psychedelic synchronicity. They’re already making a name for themselves in the LA music scene (they played Coachella in 2008, that tease of a mega festival that sold out in less than two hours this year) as well as respectable circuits outside of La La Land (they’re tearing up SXSW this year).

Lucky for you, this fuggin’-awesome-fivesome is hitting up the Roxy to shred out some solid progressive rock tunes on Saturday March 3 along with Warner Drive, Diamond Lane, The Shakers and Laura Wilde. So take a break from getting trashed at yet another lame Hollywood club while convincing yourself you’re having a good time ( just admit that swigging $15 drinks while bopping your head to trance at a venue where you can barely make out people’s faces  isn’t actually that fun (i.e. “Was that the girl from that Sucker Punch movie? No? Which one? Oh I don’t know”)) and hit up the Roxy next Saturday for some wild live music. Imagine that!
