For those of you who weren’t able to make Chairlift @ Mondrian Skybar, do not despair, for the fates have given you a second chance to see a sick act for free: Nosaj Thing is playing on February 23 at the very same posh venue – the second part of the Mondrian Sessions presented by IAMSOUND. Caroline Polachek‘s voice will be replaced by gloomy beatscapes and distorted synths courtesy of 24 year old producer Jason Chung, the darkly dreaming genius behind Nosaj Thing. His penchant for hip hop is reminiscent of another resident LA DJ – Flying Lotus – but his overall sound is more chilly – exploring nighttime, echoes and the cold emptiness of space while straying from any warm undertones. Believe me, I couldn’t think of a more perfect setting for his tracks to be enjoyed. Skyline in view, drink in hand and eerily sexy beats – sounds like the perfect night to me. See you there.
