Chairlift Announce New Album Something for January 2012 Release

Chairlift has just announced a new album, along with new US and Australian tour dates.  As Something hits stores January 24 2012 via Columbia Records, the duo will hit the road to promote their record.

Chairlift is a synth pop duo comprised of Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly.  The last we heard from them was 2008’s charming full-length, Do You Inspire. Though their new record, Something, is not due till January, Itunes pre-orders begin on December 20.  The album was recorded in New York and London with Dan Carey, who has previously worked with Hot Chip and Franz Ferdinand.  Something will be the duo’s first record since 2008’s Do You Inspire.

In celebration of their forthcoming release, Chairlift will be hosting an exclusive Livestream concert today.  Head on over to their website at 8:30 PM ET to listen to their performance at the Knitting Factory in New York.

Watch the video for one of their new songs, “Amanaenomesia.”
