Thom Yorke, Massive Attack Perform at Occupy London Party

Thom Yorke, Massive Attack, and former DFA member Tim Goldsworthy joined the ranks of artists showing their support for the Occupy movements with performance at an Occupy London party held at the former UBS building-turned-“Bank of Ideas” on Tuesday. The party and performance was webcast live on the Occupy London Livestream, and according to a post on the Occupy London site, will be available at the Occupation Records, though the site is still under construction.

Party contributors Massive Attack have also launched “Occupy Radio” on Soundcloud. Visitors can access mixes influenced by the movement from Massive Attack’s 3D, Goldsworthy, and Horse Meat Disco.

Yorke and 3D also gave a rare interview atop the UBS building in Hackney, renamed “Bank of Ideas.” The video is compliments of Mark Donne of the recently-launched Occupy Radio site.

The Occupy movements have attracted the attention of plenty of artists since September 17, and solidarity with the protesters has been an organized—and galvanized—by everything from online communities of artists to impromptu live performances.
