According to Psych Explorations, the song was originally released via the Flaming Lips’ secret 2007 Christmas album, whose secrecy was due in part to its very limited physical release. Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne has provided lyric sheet via Twitter.

As previously reported, The Flaming Lips and Plastic Ono Band will also team up again for the Lips’ New Year’s Freak Out No. 5 in Oklahoma City on December 31 and January 1. According to the Lips’ official Twitter feed, Ono will perform the 1971 Lennon/Ono Christmas classic “Happy Xmas [War Is Over]” with the Lips at midnight on the 31st. One can’t help but feel the socially-conscious but deeply optimistic threads linking the Lennon standard and the newest collaborative “Atlas Eets Christmas” effort.

The Flaming Lips have been teaming up with various members of the musically-inclined Lennon family since teaming up with Ono’s son Sean Lennon and his band Ghost of Sabertooth Tiger for their epic 6-hour song, “I Found a Star on the Ground.”

The Oklahoma natives (and author of the state’s official rock song) have also set up an “Atlas Eets Christmas” website of “Infinite Christmas Sounds.” It will stream Flaming Lips Christmas music 24/7 throughout December.
