Following the end of their current tour for their latest studio release, David Comes to Life, Canadian punk troupe Fucked Up will take a break from touring. For frontman Damian Abraham, it will come as much needed time off as he has struggled with the responsibilities of being a husband and father while also being a touring musician.
I can’t tour anymore, said Abraham in an interview with Spinner.com
I know we’re going to take this long break and hopefully we can think about it and figure it out a little more, added Abraham.
However, the future of Fucked Up featuring their well known and iconic frontman remains uncertain as Abraham has not decided on what course of action to take. What is certain though, is that the band will finish the tour as planned Abraham in place.
For the tour, it’s final act will see the band perform their latest album, David Came to Life, in it’s entirety. Held Le Poisson Rouge in New York City and Warsaw in Brooklyn, the performances will be the first time the band has played the 18 song four act conceptual epic live start to end.
Because it’s a narrative-based record, it’s almost natural that we attempt it, said Abraham.
After the New York shows have concluded, the band will make a long trip to Australia and New Zealand to finish out the year before venturing into hiatus. For Abraham, the time off is a welcomed change of pace.
It messes with your head after a while, and I think that’s why we need this break. Me especially though, I’m the one losing it the most by far, said Abraham.
