On February 7, 2012, Blues Funeral will be available digitally, as well as on CD and LP. This will be the first record put out by the Mark Lanegan Band since 2004’s Bubblegum.
Aside from his first solo endeavor, Bubblegum, Mark Lanegan has also sung with Screaming Trees, Queens Of the Stone Age, The Twilight Singers, The Gutter Twins, Soulsavers and Isobel Campbell. Blues Funeral will be his second solo endeavor, recorded in Hollywood by Alain Johannes at 11ad studio. The music on the album was played by Johannes and Jack Irons, with guest appearances from Greg Dulli and Josh Homme. Fans of Lanegan’s other associated acts are in for a treat, since Blues Funeral features musicians that the singer has collaborated with successfully in the past to create some of his most memorable songs.
