“Toy” and “bomb” aren’t usually two words that should ever be used in the same sentence (much less the same phrase), yet these guys somehow make it okay – if just for the fact that they happen to be a really kickass band. I already mentioned Toy Bombs a few posts ago when they played with Hell&Lula and eli james for High Voltage Magazine’s show at the Mint (I believe I described them as having an “eclectic sound that’s as Spoon-esque as it is the Clash”), but felt the need to tell you all that they’re playing a FREE SHOW at the House of Blues on Sunset this Friday. And you know how I feel about free, good shows. (Really strongly, that’s how.)
All you gotta do is find the mysterious ticket man who’ll be handing out the tix on Sunset, most likely right outside the House of Blues- apparently he’ll be next to red balloons? I mean, I’m always down for a game of Where’s Waldo. And trust me, these guys are worth seeking out.
Listen to some of their stuff and get a free song at their website here.
