Saturday night at the Los Angeles’ Home Depot Stadium, DJ Tiësto closed out his three week “Club Life College Invasion Tour” with a massive show. The Stadium has a capacity of 26,000, which meant that this Tiësto performance was the largest single headline DJ show in US history.
Starting the night was 18-year-old prodigy Porter Robinson. The young and talented North Carolina native is a current high school student and recently hit the scene after performing an opening slot on Tiësto’s recent Canadian tour. His first single “Say My Name” has already topped Beatport’s Electro-House chart. Joining Robinson for the closing show were Dada Life and Diplo.
Despite the logistical nightmare getting in (hours in the will call line and receiving the wrong credentials to shoot in the pit) and arguing with security, the show was solid with a good crowd. While Tiësto started his set on time at 8:30, it was unfortunately short. For anyone that goes to EDM shows, 11pm is when the party really starts and for Tiësto, it was time for everyone to go to home. Is this a sign of how EDM shows will be in Los Angeles now? Lets hope Monster Massive will be able to live up to it’s history.
