It’s probably not fair to stereotype the crowd at a concert, but if one had to pick a phrase to describe the audience at The Troubadour to see Bob Schneider, “girls’ night out” comes to mind. The singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas lulled his enthusiastic, champagne-clutching followers first with a few romantic pop songs then quickly switched gears to mambo, funk, and hard rock.
Schneider’s repartee between songs was as varied as his music styles: at one point railing against Michael Bay, and at another commanding his audience: “You better fuckin’ sing!” As if to reinforce his eclectic rep, he began his encore by rapping solo on-stage. But whatever genre Bob Schneider ventured into, his adoring fans had his back: dancing, singing along, and thoroughly enjoying their girls’ night out.
