Watch: Mike Patton Performs “Roots Bloody Roots” with Sepultura Live at Rock in Rio

Man of many bands Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) performed “Roots Bloody Roots” with Sepultura during Rock in Rio 2011. The concert, held in Brazil and occasionally Portugal and Spain, is the largest in the world with over a million estimated attendees during its 25 year, 10 concert span.

“Roots Bloody Roots” was the first single from Sepultura’s 1996 album Roots on RoadRunner Records. The video begins true to the original music video’s, well, roots–an gang of industrial-sounding percussionists pound 50-gallon steel drums as current lead-singer Derrick Green growls to an excited-sounding crowd. Patton joins him from the side of the stage, embellishing Green’s throaty roar with a banshee scream.
