Annie Clark Hints at Release Date for David Byrne Collaboration

David Byrne, perhaps best known as the primary songwriter for the Talking Heads, spoke of a collaboration between him and Annie Clark of St. Vincent early last year. Clark projected a 2012 release date in a recent interview.

She said:

“We’ve written a good deal of a record together and recorded about half of it,” said Clark. “It’s very split down the middle between who writes lyrics and who sings and who came to the other with the first musical idea, it’s very much egalitarian in that way, but natural. I think we’ll probably finish it up by early next year and then put it out.”

Clark cited the Björk/Dirty Projectors collaboration Mount Wittenberg Orca as a source of inspiration for this upcoming album.

Michelle Rick: I like Pop Rocks, and believe your life is incomplete if you've never seen Forrest Gump. I recently saw the Counting Crows live, for free, and it was not good. I was supposed to interview David Hasselhoff once but he never showed. And I love the band that was once Oasis.
