Weather sometimes affects even the world of music, and with Hurricane Irene making its way up the East Coast this weekend, slew of live music events have been cancelled or postponed.
With some 55 million people in the path of Irene, according to the New York Times, concerns about the ongoing inclement weather have forced promoters to call off shows featuring artists such as the Roots, Ted Leo, Cee-Lo Green and Talib Kweli, Josh Ritter, School of Seven Bells and more.
Even the President is involved.
“I cannot stress this highly enough. If you are in the projected path of this hurricane, you have to take precautions now. Don’t wait. Don’t delay,” said President Obama in a recent press conference regarding the storm.

Q-Tip and DJ Spinna at Irving Plaza (postponed)
