Just like at SXSW, Duran Duran masterfully displayed that they are reborn. No longer a throwback act, they are an act that always was relevant, and has become richer with the passage of time. Playing classics like “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Girls on Film” (which they augmented with a piece of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”) and “Rio,” the crowd was thrilled by each passing moment. Simon LeBon’s voice is astonishingly crisp. Each not held rings loud and clear. They also played a few strong songsl from their most recent album, All You Need is Now, the title track and “Safe in the Heat of the Moment” with Anna from the Scissor Sisters. In a classy moment, the band dedicated their classic “A View to a Kill” to friend and recently deceased film composer John Barry. Duran Duran are back and hopefully, are here to stay.
