As announcements continue to pour in from locations all around Austin MOG at the Mohawk is perhaps one of the most anticipated parties of this years SXSW.This year MOG at the Mohawk comes through again with headliners Big Boi and TV on the Radio. The announcement came today amidst a frenzy of other talked about SXSW events. Sponsored by the Lexus CT, this unofficial show will house a variety of newcomers, buzz bands, and established legends.
Big Boi will toe the line for the legendary category of bands. For those of you who are unfamiliar, he is best known for his work with Outkast and has recently dropped a critically acclaimed solo rap album called Sir Lucious Left Foot… The Son of Chico Dusty.
TV on the Radio which have been generating fresh tunes for almost a decade now are planning a fourth album set to be released about a month after this show. They will most likely be giving the crowd a shot of their new stuff, while also bolstering the show with classic fan favorites. Look for The Nine Types of Light to hit the shelf April 12th.
The Mohawk is set to throw a wild party with both indoor and outdoor stages, a few major headliners and several others. Other bands you might recognize include indie rockers Okkervil River who are also natives to Austin.
Further information on the party reveals that the super group known as Wild Flag will also be taking part in the festivities. Other notable up-and-comers such as Twin Shadow, Yuck, The Smith Westerns, and Theophilus London will be adding to the tempo of the party.
