The original lineup of British rock band Pulp will share the stage together for the first time in 15 years next summer. The band announced two confirmed dates for 2011, with more promised to come.
Pulp, which formed in 1978 and broke up in 2002, will play U.K.’s Wireless Festival on July 3 and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival on May 27. This will mark the first time the band’s original lineup – frontman Jarvis Cocker, guitarists Mark Webber and Russell Senior, bassist Steve Mackey, keyboardist Candida Doyle and drummer Nick Bands – will play together since 1996.
In a statement, the band said the following:
Pulp have decided to get together and play some concerts next summer. The shows will involve all the original members of the band and they will be playing songs from all periods of their career. (Yes, that means they’ll be playing your favourites). In the meantime, ask yourself this: ‘Do You Remember The First Time?’ Thank you for your attention.
Pulp’s tour dates are as follows:
5/27/11 – Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival
7/3/11 – U.K.’s Wireless Festival
