15 Killed At Dance Festival in Germany

15 were killed at a techno music festival in Duisberg, Germany this Saturday. More info after the jump.

When 1.4 million dance music fans showed up, the concert organizers, who expected 700,000-800,000 attendees, tried to accommodate the larger numbers with extra space.  But when the crowd tried to move to the alternate site, through a narrow underpass, chaos broke out.  Being trapped between crowds in the hundreds of thousands and walls set many into panic mode and crowd members began stampeding.  15 were left dead and many many more were injured.  Only about 1,400 police officers were overseeing the event.
