Hipsters everywhere found their world torn to shreds when The Strokes announced that the release date of their new album will be delayed yet again, until March of 2011. This news was met in formerly working class metropolitan neighborhoods across the nation with much weeping and gnashing of teeth. More after the jump.
The delay seems to be a combination of Julian Casablancas‘ new solo project and the Strokes’ rumored perfectionism.
Casablancas commented on the arduous recording process in a recent interview with BBC 6 Music: “We wanted to do it for months, or maybe a year now, and we keep thinking, ‘OK, we’ll do it, for like these three weeks and then we’ll be done.’ And then we do it and we decide that we’re not done, or something comes in the way.”
