Kings Of Leon, The Strokes, Phoenix To Play Outside Lands Festival

The third annual Outside Lands Festival goes down August 14-15 in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and, like the MusicfestNW we reported on today, there’s no shortage of awesome acts.

Saturday night’s headliner is Further featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, who played Golden Gate Park frequently with the Grateful Dead in the 1960’s and 1970’s Furthur’s headlining slot will mark the first time that Phil Lesh and Bob Weir will perform together again in the Park since Bill Graham’s memorial tribute, “Love, Laughter and Music” in 1991. A significantly younger act, pop rockers Kings of Leon, will be playing Outside Lands for the first time and will headline Sunday’s festivities.

Other bands performing include My Morning Jacket, The Strokes, Phoenix, Al Green and Janelle Monáe.

Finally, any festival goers worried about mucking up Golden Gate Park, no worries – a portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department.

More information, including info on ticket sales, can be found at the festival’s official website.
