The Backwards Clock Society (with Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins) will headline a benefit concert in which all the proceeds will be donated to Laura Ann Masura (the former head of the Smashing Pumpkins) on Sunday, November 8th at the Echoplex. Other featured guests are Kerry Brown of Ancient Chinese Secrets and Mark Tulin of the Electric Prune. Tickets are available at the Echoplex website. Doors open at 4:30 pm and the show begins at 5:00 pm.
All the proceeds will go to Laura Ann Masura. Laura was hurt in a motorcycle crash on September 9th, on the Pacific Coast Hwy, and is expected to be wheelchair bound for many months.
An auction will sell off the first drum kit from Jimmy Chamberlin used on the Smashing Pumpkins Gish album in 1991 and after tour. It will be autographed by both Jimmy Chamberlin and Billy Corgan. They will also auction the original Smashing Pumpkins bass guitar that Billy used at the band’s very first show and early demos. Both items will be available for bidding at Smashing Pumpkins memorabilia ebay site. There will be a raffle at the Echoplex, a BBQ and a booth selling Laura’s homemade jams. Rachel Lichtman will emcee and spin records.
