American alternative music artist, Lou Barlow is releasing his new album Goodnight Unknown on October 6, 2009 through Emerge Records.
This is his first solo effort since Emoh in 2005. The 14 track album was produced by Andrew “Mudrock” Murdock. The two did not know each other personally before agreeing to do the project. Dale Crover of the Melvins plays the drums and the Folk Implosions’s Immad Waasif plays guitar. According to a press release, Barlow says the album is “a cross between my later work with Folk Implosion and my earlier work with Sebadoh… to my ears anyway.” Tracklist for Goodnight Unknown shown below.
Lou Barlow is taking music from the album on tour this October, with his band The Missingmen. The Missingmen are Tom Watson and Raul Morales, also known as Mike Watt’s backing band. They are opening up for Dinosaur Jr. Tour dates are listed.
