Early 2000’s rock juggernauts Evanescence have announced they will tour throughout this upcoming fall. The band’s 16-stop tour begins in October and marks their first major tour since 2012. They played three shows in 2015 and three this past spring.
The band’s fall tour kicks off October 28 in Dallas, Texas and wraps November 23 in Huntington, New York. Despite the New York tour date, the band will play primarily in the South.
“Just when you thought I was off the hard stuff! It’s going to feel amazing to step back onstage with the band this fall,” Amy Lee said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “We had such a tight gel solidifying onstage the last few shows, and were enjoying it so much, we were all lamenting that it was so short and have been on the lookout for more opportunities to play live.” So look for Evanescence on tour this fall at the stops listed below.”
Since 2011’s eponymous LP and subsequent tour, Evanescence have remained relatively quiet. Most notably, Amy Lee filed suit against former label Wind-Up Records, seeking $1.5 million in unpaid royalties. The label subsequently dropped the group from the label. In 2015, Lee announced long-time guitarist Terry Balsamo had departed the band, and would been replaced by Jen Majura.
Lee has released multiple productions during Evanescence’s hiatus, including a soundtrack and an EP. She is scheduled to premiere her first children’s album, Dream Too Much, on September 30 via Amazon Music. She recorded the album with her family members, and the 12-track LP will feature covers of Sesame Street classic “Rubber Duckie,” the Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye” and R&B standard “Goodnight My Love.”
