Hot off the success of their album What Went Down, English indie rock band Foals has announced a series of fall U.S. tour dates. Kiev and Bear Hands will accompany them on this tour.
What Went Down received critical acclaim from critics for its unabashedly heavy sound. The album features massive, droning bass grooves alongside abrasive Queens of the Stone age style guitar riffs. The explosive, roaring vocals from charismatic front-man Yannis Philippakis set the tone of the album right out of the gate. His scream of “When I see a man, I see a lion!” immediately tells the viewer they’re in for a hell of a ride.
Foals has demonstrated musical versatility through their prettier, more delicate releases, such as the single “Rain”. The song is sparkling and soft, and demonstrates that the band can seamlessly transition their sound from brash indie rock to beautiful psychedelic rock.
