In May, krautpop band Fujiya & Miyagi shared the generically named EP1, which featured a handful of electro-pop tracks. According to Stereogum, EP1 is the first of a trio of releases this year that will build up to a full album in early 2017.
Fujiya & Miyagi have shared a video for the EP’s second track “To The Last Beat Of My Heart,” directed by Bob Brown, Matt Mitchell, and Matt Seccombe. The video follows a puppy in space, seemingly on a quest to track down his owner, with repeating lyrics “I will love you no matter where you are/ I will love you to the last beat of my heart” sung by a video transmission of David Best while his pup watches. The clip takes several trippy turns between verses. Check it out below.
The Brighton band has become known over the years for being influenced by Krautrock bands such as Can and Neu, along with a number of electronic influences. Since 2002, the group has released 5 studio albums, along with an album of remixes. They have additionally been the subject of a 2006 documentary series on MTV2, titled This Is Our Music. While the group’s music has received little airplay throughout their career, they have been featured on a number of commercials and television episodes, such as Breaking Bad.
