Hardcore Cleveland hardcore metal singers, Ringworm, have announced they are coming back into the scene with their new album Snake Church which is set to be released on July 29 via Relapse records.
The release of this album will make it the band’s 8th full-length album. It seems the band isn’t making any noticeable changes in the way the new album is made. They will continue with their streak of putting out what is best described as a “furious, unhinged style.”
The video, which was directed by Don Tyler, is essentially a lyric video with pictures of the band members and snakes throughout the video. Snake Church begins with the sound of what the snakes featured in the video may actually pray to, after this intro, the music just intensifies. The album can best be described as a “testament of vicious aggression.”
The video is an out of focus, black and white shot. It starts with a snake coiling around what seems to be a fallen Jesus statue. The video then progresses to the band playing, still shot in an unfocused view. It seems that the director wanted to give the viewer the feeling that they are watching an old school horror movie.
