Rob Zombie brought the house down at an intimate sold out concert at The Roxy Theater, his first show in Hollywood since 2009. This was a special warm up show for his upcoming nationwide tour and what better way to start it off than at The Roxy. Usually you get to see Rob Zombie at a larger venue or at a festival but that is what made this concert so special. That room could barely contain the excitement from the fans and the incredible sound from the band.
This concert was everything a Rob Zombie fan could want, and more! Playing all the classic tracks from his catalogue such as “Dragula,” “More Human Than Human” and “Superbeast!”
Rob Zombie definitely knows how to put on a fantastic show, complete with amazing costumes from him and his band mates, Piggy D, Ginger Fish and the guitar virtuoso, John 5. The band even threw out balloons in the crowd causing the audience to go into a craze. You may not realize that everyone was such a big fan of balloons! One of the best set pieces at the show was Rob’s ‘Nosferatu’ microphone stand. It’s easy to see why people constantly rave about his shows; it is rare to see such great production in a band. The music and presentation were top notch and one can only imagine what goes on in a stadium with thousands of people.
One of the biggest surprises of the night was seeing Glenn Danzig go up on stage and perform the classic Misfits song “Vampira” with Rob Zombie. Danzig could be seen in the VIP area but no one was expecting him to go up on stage and perform. Danzig and Rob were amazing on stage, the intensity and power of both of these artists still remain to this day. This was surely a special moment in music history.
