New York City’s own post-punk band, Big Ups, are currently on tour in Europe but will be coming back to New York City on May 5th to perform at Shea Stadium in Brooklyn.
This four-piece band got started in 2010 in New York City and have been progressively making a name for themselves since their formation. The band just released their sophomore record, Before A Million Universes, on March 4th. The band is streaming the record on their Soundcloud and if you haven’t heard it yet, stop everything you’re doing and go listen. It seems as if the band has found their sweet spot and people everywhere are beginning to notice. Last month, Rolling Stone included them in their list of March’s Ten Artists You Need To Know.
Big Ups will be performing at Shea Stadium with support from New York City’s experimental rock band, Dirty Dishes. This two-piece ban just released their newest single, All Of Me, in February. Check it out.
Shea Stadium in Brooklyn is perhaps one of the best venues to see Big Ups perform. Not only are the in their hometown but the DIY venue is small, intimate and punker than you’ll ever be. With the attention they have been getting recently, this is a small venue show you’re going to want to catch. Tickets are on sale now for $10 on Ticketfly.
